Integrating Palliative Care in the Curriculum of Health Professionals in Institutions of Higher Learning in Three African Countries - October 2011- December 2012

PACAM is also currently involved in a project which aims to integrate Palliative Care into the pre-service curriculum.

 

From an initial education conference on Palliative Care as an Essential Part of the Medical and Nursing Training in October 2008, in Kampala Uganda, remarkable progress has been realised in Malawi where palliative care has been integrated in the medical and nursing curricula.

Research

2018-2020

As part of Chifundo Project (running from July 2018 to June 2021), PACAM is conducting APCA palliative care standards Audit for 30 health facilities that are under Chifundo Project.

Chifundo Project is targeting One health facility per district, including 3 central hospitals – Kamuzu Central Hospital, Mzuzu central Hospital and Zomba Central Hospital

PACAM currently works on a variety of research initiatives including working with other partners like APCA.
